Today I'm going to review Special Ops Paintballs line of camoflauge called Omnipat. In my time in paintball I have used and seen many different kinds of camo. I personally used my Army Issue ACU for an entire season before my team told me that it didn't work well in the woods of Wisconsin. This was after I spent quite a bit of money in gear of the matching camo. Thanks guys. Now I understand that using camo correctly has everything to do with the environment that your playing. Its not smart to use Desert camo in the woods...doesn't work well. Many suggested to me to get two sets of camo and use them when the time was right. I didn't like this Idea and started to search for a camo that would work well in just about anything. I found Crye Techs Multicam. I liked the camo a lot and was going to get some of it. Then I saw someone at a field here in Wisconsin and noticed how it blend much better then ACU and BDU but there was still something about it I didn't like. After really looking at the environments that I played in the most I noticed that having a lot of green in a camo doesn't really help unless your in the leaves. How often are you climbing trees? Because I didn't see a lot of leaves low in the area I played. It was mostly brown to a pee green. I wanted something that would work there but also work in a field. I liked the look of the digital camos out there. Many the Marine Corps Mar-pat. Mar-pat was an excellent camo for the woods. Still too much green.

Then Special Ops Paintball released Omnipat. I couldn't believe it. It was everything I wanted in a camo. It was digital, it was just enough green, just enough brown. But I needed to be sold on something. It wasn't long until I viewed the photos of Omnipat next to Multicam. I was blown away. I ordered some to see what it was like in person. I believed in it, but some of my friends were a little less than sold; until I got it in the mail. This camo is beautiful and it blends great in the environment I play in most. I did some traveling to see what it would look like in different areas. Aside for snow, it works better then any other camo I have ever seen. I used this camo at Splat Tags Giant Big Game in Hudson Wisconsin and counted 17 people that walked right by me and I was only 5 feet off a trail. I had to ask a ref to move because he sat down infront of me no more then 3 feet away! This camo works.

Shortly after I got my camo the rest of my team purchased Omnipat. If your in the market for a new camo there is nothing on the market that works better then this camo pattern. Special Ops sells this camo in different styles depending on your needs. I use an ultralite set because its made of jersey material. Its light and cool and doesn't slow me down. The draw back of this is that anything in your environment can get into your skin. It doesn't provide much protection from throns and thisels. The fusions are thicker, hotter and more sturdy, but they offer a lot more protection from the elements. The only draw back of this camo is not
an issue with the camo itself, but just that Special Ops Paintball needs
to make a more durable product.

The short and long of it is if your in the market or can fork the cash up for the pattern I would suggest it. It's one more step towards invisiblity. Get the jump on your opponent with the best camo I have ever seen. I don't plan on ever changing my camo again.

Overall 9/10 Next time VForce Grill.
