The Sons of Thunder hope that everyone had an enjoyable holiday season. We, like most of you, are anxious for the new season to start. The schedule has been posted up for the 2009 season. The schedule is still pending some dates regarding the 2009 travel games we will attend, however those details should be worked out before the season begins. Also, due to the amount of snowfall we've received this winter, the spring will most likely be quite wet. We'll let you know of any changes to the schedule dates or locations due to these conditions, but we recommend that everyone expect to get a little wet at least for the first few games of the season. For the '09 season we will again host practices every wednesday before a scheduled game at Christ the Rock, if you have any questions regarding the practices contact sot.spyder@hotmail.com. Also in 2009, SOT will be hosting a scenario game. We are still hammering out the details of the game, including the date, however we will let you know more about it as details get finalized.

In 2009 we will start to enforce a new safety rule at all our hosted games. Anytime that anyone has a paintball marker within the safe zone or anywhere outside of the playing field or chronograph station a barrel sock must be used on their marker. Just to clarify, it needs to be a barrel sock or a barrel condom, it can't be a barrel plug or squeegee, or some other barrel blocking device. Almost every field nowadays requires the use of barrel socks instead of plugs or other devices. The rule is in place for safety, and most of the people that come to our games already follow it. This is just a heads up to those that don't have a barrel sock, we recommend that you get one before the season opener. If you do decide to wait until the season starts we will have barrel socks for sale, and if the purchase price is to high, we will have a few available for renting.

Just as a quick reminder for the upcoming season, we once again will not allow the use of Nelson brand paintballs at our field, as the Nelson brand paint has been responsible for damage to gear. The issue was pretty much solved by the end of last season, but we just want to remind everyone about that rule. If you do happen to bring some Nelson brand with you, or just need more paint, we always have a few bags for sale.

The Sons of Thunder, as many of you know, are a christian based team, as such we would like to invite everyone to come to a bible study held weekly at a team member's house.
