This Saturday, August 22nd will be the first scenario game hosted by S.O.T., The Siege of Shiocton. This game will be different when compared to our normal games, however it should still be a lot of fun. The game will consist of three rounds of play each with various missions for both teams to complete. The game will also tell a story, that the players actively influence. To facilitate these missions and storylines, the game will be starting earlier in the day, S.O.T. would like people to arrive at 9:00 am instead of 10:00am. The back story to the Siege of Shiocton is below for your enjoyment, as well as a schedule for the days events.
Due to increased military action in the Far East, China adds to their forces in Canada, without Canadian approval. The increased Chinese military presence in the great white north led to the Invasion of Alaska and the Battle of Juneau. The aggressive Chinese offensive also began pushing on the northern border of the United States. The US and what remains of the Canadian government have sent large forces into the northern US to hold the border and stop the invasion. Despite these efforts, the Chinese forces were able to cross US borders.
Battle of Escanaba: The US and Chinese forces fought a four day battle in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Unknown to the US forces, the Chinese forces were staging in the north woods for weeks. With these hidden soldiers, the battle quickly turned into a siege. The resources of the US forces began to dwindle, and US and Canadian Special Forces moved north through Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the Chinese and allied Vietnamese forces had pushed down to the small town of Shiocton, WI.
Siege of Shiocton: Due to the civilian population in Shiocton, The US forces can’t use defensive air strikes on the Chinese forces. As such the US forces have put boots on the ground to defend against the Chinese forces. Due to the number of troops fighting here, the Battle of Shiocton could decide the fate of this war.
